CORE’s Moving Into Management for the Outdoor Recreation Economy is designed for aspiring or first-time managers to gain the skills and understanding of vital management concepts and practices. Management skills continue to be in high demand. Effective management skills are critical for new employees stepping into this space, inspiring employees and teams, navigating conflict, and developing creative solutions to challenges.
You do not need to be in charge of a team or a current manager to take advantage of this course. Whether you cut trails or manage sales (or sails), being a manager is about accounting for coworker and stakeholder expectations, managing projects as well as emotions, modeling positive communication, and managing through times of uncertainty or ambiguity.
